Logging Chain Lodge Cottages
Dwight, Ontario on Lake of Bays, Muskoka 877-635-2575 / 705-635-2575
Autumn is the most spectacular of the seasons in Muskoka! There are very few places on Earth that can match the intense beauty of the Fall leaves when in full colour change. Guests come to stay in our cottages from around the world, just to experience a Muskoka Autumn, especially Fall in Algonquin Park!
Warm days and cool nights result in vivid tree colours before the leaves fall to the ground for the winter. The temperate conditions allow you to walk or hike comfortably in Algonquin Provincial Park or the surrounding area of our cottage resort in the village of Dwight.
Only 15 minutes drive to either the town of Huntsville, Ontario to the West or Algonquin Provincial Park to the East and nestled on the Northern most bay of Lake of Bays - our location in the Muskoka region is sure to please you! You will be surrounded in vibrant colours.
Mid-September to around the 3rd week of October are traditionally the best viewing times for Fall colours in Muskoka.
Bring your camera! Your photos will be spectacular!
Algonquin Provincial Park is approximately 300+ meters (1000 feet) higher in elevation than our resort - this results in the Autumn colours appearing first there, and then about one week later here in our town of Dwight - that's like getting twice the Fall Colours!
Check out the Fall Colour Report. This is a unique tool that tracks the annual change in leaf colours.
Swimming is still a big part of September at Dwight Beach - an all sand beach that gently slopes into the water (no scary drop-offs to worry about). Jumping off the Dwight Beach Town Dock is a very popular pastime!
Grab one of our canoes or kayaks (free!) and see the Fall Colours from a lake view (available until Thanksgiving Weekend).
Please remember: book your cottage early! We always sell out every weekend in September and October!!
Avoid disappointment...
Consider booking a mid-week stay for greater cottage selection, quieter walking trails, weather that is still inviting and clean fresh air that is purely invigorating.
Our accommodation near Algonquin Park is perfect for your getaway!
The Dorset Lookout Tower is the place to be for an impressive high-up panoramic view of our area. A short 10 minute drive away, be aware that weekends can see lineups of vehicles trying to get up to the base of the tower, so plan accordingly.
The climb up this old fire tower is not for the feint of heart...for those who do reach the top, you can proudly purchase a t-shirt at the tiny gift store that will announce your achievement to the world!
